This application is much newer and more cutting edge, even though the techniques used are fairly basic. There is much development going on in relation to combining solar thermal systems with geothermal system to increase incoming water temperature to the geothermal heat pump, or heating the ground where the geothermal ground loop is located. Using simple ideas of thermodynamics and how to utilize surrounding energy is a great new area for exploration in the renewable energy industry.

This area is still very untracked and in development, so not many systems are in place or ideas finalized, but you will for sure see these types of ideas in the future.
