Solar thermal systems generally require little maintenance over their lifetimes and usually come with 5-10 year warranties. Passive systems have no moving parts, and therefore very little to worry about. Active system have a few moving parts such as pumps and flow centers, but still require very little maintenance over time to keep the system running smoothly.
