Horizontal LoopThe horizontal loop method is the closest to a standard geothermal system. It is dug beneath the frost line (usually 6-8 ft.) where the temperature is standard, and laid out horizontally like a standard system, then refilled with dirt. The overall size of excavation and loop size are considerably smaller than the standard system, but slightly more expensive, because of the larger amount of digging needed. |
