Geothermal DX systems are by far the most efficient heating system on the market today. Their COP ranges from about 3.5-5, which means they produce 3.5-5 times the energy in heat than they take in. (5 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity). That is 350-500% efficiency. No other heating system that I can think of can produce that kind of efficiency. Even high efficiency boilers and furnaces only operate at best at 98% efficiency.
